Unfortunately Frequently Asked Questions - I.E.: Stuff I really wish you asshats would quit asking. :P
The problem with hunters is exactly the same as what is wrong with all other classes. People play it.
People are inherently ignorant, self centered, greedy, and impatient. In a word, People are Stupid.
Each class has it's strengths and weaknesses, some can't get past having weaknesses out of a variety
of personal reasons or complete lack of ability, this combined with human nature (see above) make for
a lot of complaints about a lot of things that are complete nonsense. Mechanical issues aside (Arena LoS),
there is nothing (read: significantly) wrong with the hunter class.
Leveling any class in this game (ok, except maybe priest) is terribly easy. The game is not meant to be supremely
challenging, it is just meant to be fun and interesting. A hunter excels at PvE content, because that's how the
class is built. A half-brain-dead, drugged up, blind, deaf, mute walrus with only one arm could level a hunter
to 70 without any spec and no gear other than weapons. True Story. People forget that once you hit Level 70 and
have to actually start doing other stuff though, that's when there's a separation of one armed walruses from two
armed emo kids that can learn a shot rotation. Leveling a Hunter is Easy Mode. Learning to play one intelligently
in content other than solo can be challenging.
Generally, if you're getting made fun of, yelled at, picked apart or flat out forum-slayed by people in a thread
you started, it is probably because of one of the following:
- You made a blanket statement (which is probably false) instead of asking a question.
- You mislead people into your thread with an off-topic thread title.
- You didn't take the time to spell-check or grammar-check your post.
- You're being a shitbag troll and deserve all the abuse.
While there are other reasons, obviously, that can occur, generally any of these is the most likely, especially the
first one. It's amazing the difference that ASKING QUESTIONS can make as opposed to making statements.
First and foremost, know that from a public disposition standpoint, you're starting from behind. There's a lot of bad
hunters out there ruining your name for you, without you ever doing anything wrong. That means we have to work harder
to get the same respect that other classes might get regardless. Beyond that, there are lots of things to learn, but
here are the MAJOR key things:
- Chain Trapping without Fail. Regardless of Spec.
- Shot Rotation for maximizing DPS output.
- Learn how and when to use ALL of your abilities.
- Know how to control and manage your pet.
- Just do your f'ng job and stop whining.
