This episode is… EPIC! We have our first guest star, Lark from Gamespot.com! He’s a long time friend of us all and makes a fine addition to the show. We discuss at length the new Transformers movie (it was great!) and the upcoming E3 show. Sadly, Lark can’t go but did provide us with insider information (no breaking of embargoes though
) This with our usual what we have been doing and cool links and news pushes this show to over 2 hours long! Damn, I told you it was Epic. [sarcasm]We even get to sound like robots thanks to our wonderful Skype connection![/sarcasm] Unfortunately, because this episode was so long, we have to put aside listener interaction until next week. So don’t worry Adrian and Lewis, your comments will get read. Anyhow, enjoy this great, new (and long) episode of FHF!

Funniest. Episode. Ever.
A geek’s masturbation fest.
Glad to hear the positive reviews of “Transformers”. We don’t get it here till August and with it being my favorite of all the 80’s cartoons, and with Bay behind the camera, I feared it was going to be raped like a Japanese school-girl by a multi-tentacled salaryman (or Adrian).
I just picked up a DS last week, but I’ve got a question for you guys. The DS is as big as Gamera over here, but the main reason is the HUGE number of self-help and study guide software available. From the Department of Pulling Stats Out of My Ass, about 60% of software available here are things ranging from cooking recipes, English study, and even ones that show you how to exercise. People are buying them to help their kids with their homework, housewives who want to study English, and foreigners who want to practice their kanji (especially the ones that help them pick up school-girls). Is there such a huge selection of similar software over there, or are there actually games available?

No, not really. Over here it’s 99% just the games. I’ve seen some of that stuff you can order online, but there’s really no market for it over here.
After all, why would Americans want to actually LEARN anything?

A lot of that stuff is coming over. I spent a good portion of my day today making sure it’s visible on the site…

Though, admittedly, the market for americans that want to actually learn anything on their GAMING console is… small.

Jesus…leave it to the japs to invent COOKING games…not even cooking games, cooking instruction games. Everyone knows that the best “cooking game” ever made is Burgertime followed by Tapper…
here is a short list of other possible “educational/instructional” games that I feel have potential..
A Tampon insertion themed game (possibly a 2-D sidescroller like R-type)
A turn based strategy role player based on coming out of the closet.
A drinking and driving simulation (incorporating randomly generated levels created by blowing on the DS mic for a blood alcohol level)
so there ya go….
on more of a serious tip, How cool would a fully black and white/ grayscale game be..I’m thinking blade of the immortal done on the PS3 in total black and white…It would be something new anyway…the absence of color in games… Shadow and the Colossus had a pretty flat color pallet if I remeber correctly. I’m fucking tired of flashy games with nine million colors that make my head hurt after only 1 hour of gaming..
am i alone on this?
Anyway, Fantastic show as usual guys and thanks for keeping it up!!!
The format seems to be quite tight and the 2 hours just flew by quite honestly! looking forward to hearing more.
all the best,
Adrian a.k.a. “Grandmaster Honeyham”

hmm…3rd try to comment, is it werking?

well crap..I wrote some long ass thing out but it didn’t seem to get up so here we go again…
Leave it to the japs to come up with a friggin COOKING GAME!!! It’s not even a bloody game. It’s just instructions on how to cook girly food.. Everyone knows that the best “cooking” games to ever be made were BURGERTIME and TAPPER respectivly.. anyway, here are some suggestions for some more educational/instructional games that may help people develop other important skills
1. A 2-D side scroller in the vein of R-type in which you pilot a sleek giant tampon and practice inserting it through various simulations dodging various vaginal hazards..
2. A turn based strategy RPG about coming out of the closet
3. A drinking and driving simulator with randomly generated levels that are customized to your own blood alcohol (tested of course by blowing on the DS mic)
anyway, thats all I can think of… Here’s another idea…
A Super smooth grayscale/black and white game.. would that not be cool? like a “blade of the immortal” or something…
I for one am tired of 9 billion colors spraying my retinas and giving me a headache after just 1 hour of gaming. The only game that I can think of that comes close to what I’m talking about is Shadow of The Collosus. It had a fairly washed out pallet.
just a thought.
anyway, as usual, thanks for the great and entertaining shows! The longer the better I say!! the 2 hours just flew by!! Great stuff guys. Cheers and looking forward to more!!
