Pat couldn’t be with us this week on account of work screwing him over, so Adam and I decided to have a light episode. This week it’s all about and just about links and somehow we still managed to fill almost an hour. Even though we never got into deep conversations, there are still some really funny moments and frankly some really good links. So get busy enjoying this episode!

good show guys!
glad to see you carried on minus a member….
uh…not that I’m impying a lack of peni amongst any of you..
hmmm.
nevermind..
hey can someone do something to make the humidity stop over here?
please?!? im sweating like a whore in church!
ANYWAY… Here is a question for you guys..maybe Pat directly..WHY is it that in any Hollywood movie with a computer in it, whenever the camera zooms in on the screen and someone is pushing keys it makes these “high-tech” beeping sounds?!..Same shit when the camera zooms on the computer screen and the downloading file bar is making a noise as well.
Computers dont fucking make noise when you type goddamit!!!
or do they?
is there a way to make the sounds that movie computers make?
does this annoy anyone else?
It’s like Hollywood thinks it’s 1950 and computers aren’t as common as toilets in homes..

Actually, it has less to do with the actual producers/directors/writers as it does with the people that watch the movie.
See, hollywood people know that there is an unsaid rule that if you dumb things down, simplify them, and make them shiny and cool sounding, you’ll sell more tickets. Dumb people like to not have to think about things when they go to movies… and we’ve got a LOT of really stupid people around here.

Its a job security thing for post production editors. And bad direction.
Instead of filling in the details with dialog or editing the scene to be more understandable. They fill it with beeps and bloops and pat them selves on the back for creative story telling.

ah….that does sound pretty dead on..thanks for the insight!
I once worked for a General Cinema back in the day and my favorite thing was when Orca pig beast women stuffed in their stretchy spandex would bark at me with their swinging sweaty jowls and would order an extra large popcorn and ask me to make sure to “layer the butter” (shudder)
layer the butter…
oh the things that popcorn got layerd with from that day forward…
